Rugby League always plays a key role in the community and that’s exemplified no more than by professional clubs and their outreach schemes to help the local area.

Widnes Vikings are showing that’s once again true by putting on and running a series of Christmas Sports Camps in the build up to Christmas.

The Vikings have announced four sessions over two separate dates for children in the local area and are providing this free of charge.

These sessions will be age assigned and cover the age range of 6 all the way through to 16.

On Thursday 22nd December they’re hosting school years 1 and 2 children in their morning session with years 5 and 6 in the afternoon.

The second date is Friday 23rd December where they’ll host school years 3 and 4 in the morning before years 7-11 take part in the afternoon.

This is a great initiative for Widnes locals to get involved over the festive period and it’s set to take place at the DCBL stadium.

It’s also noted that food is provided and all sessions are SEND-friendly so children of all educational needs and disabilities can be accommodated.

More information is available on their site here where you can reserve a place as well.
