Wakefield Trinity prop David Fifita reveals Warrington Wolves’ biggest weakness

Wakefield Trinity racked up one of the most impressive victories of any side in Super League so far this season.

A 38-22 victory over play-off hopefuls Warrington Wolves shut a lot of doubters up after many had predicted Trinity to be around the bottom of the table.

But, on this performance – inspired by elusive halfback Mason Lino – they will not be anywhere near.

Time and time again, Lino cut Warrington to shreds with the likes of Matty Ashurst and David Fifita having a field day on the edges and through the middle.

And, for barnstorming prop Fifita, it was all about driving through the middle and giving the likes of him and Kelepi Tanginoa the space to cause havoc.

“There was a lot of confidence going into this,” Fifita revealed on Channel 4 after the game.

“There was zero pressure on us and all the pressure was on Warrington.

“We stuck the (substitutes’) bench with four forwards and took it to them – we identified their pack as a weakness and I thought we went through them.

“Kelepi Tanginoa came on and ran amok.”

Wakefield and Warrington will do battle again next week as they aim for the Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals.
