The best thing about sport is that it is an ongoing story. Its stars are the characters, the stadiums are the majestic settings that home fairytales and each season acts as a chapter in the most compelling on running drama series man has ever penned.
Every year it seems there are a million stories to light up Super League often driven by the stars of the game.
Whether it is a star player shining as bright as can be, a youngster making a name for himself, a new signing changing the complexion of the league or someone written off in the past who has a point to prove in the new season.
That’s what we’re considering today, those players with a point to prove in 2023 and we’re looking at the Huddersfield Giants.
As any club, the Giants’ new boys all of course have points to prove whilst the disappointing end to last season will leave fire in the belly of all Huddersfield players as the 2023 season begins as they look to right the wrongs of their defeat to Salford Red Devils.
But there is one player who stands out as having a point to prove in 2023 and that is Theo Fages.
Seen as Huddersfield’s best signing going into 2022, Fages had an injury hit year as the likes of Tui Lolohea and Chris Hill shone.
Fages holds the key to turning the Giants into trophy winners after his success at St Helens and he will want to show that he can turn the Giants into genuine title contenders in 2023.
