The favourites to win the Lance Todd trophy revealed

The likes of Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield, Hull FC hero Marc Sneyd, former Wigan Warriors star Gary Connolly and many more have all won the Lance Todd trophy and we will have a new winner after Leigh Leopards vs Hull KR.

This is awarded to the Man of the Match in the Challenge Cup Final and is one of the most prestigious individual honours in rugby league as a whole.

It is currently held by Huddersfield Giants star Chris McQueen after he shone in defeat against Wigan Warriors.

In fact, the last two winners were beaten with Niall Evalds winning the award in 2021 with Castleford Tigers.

The last victorious player to win the award was Richie Myler at Leeds Rhinos in 2020.

This weekend, Hull KR and Leigh Leopards meet at Wembley battling it out for the Challenge Cup trophy but the Lance Todd Trophy will also be handed out.

There are two previous winners who could be involved and if they are they will ironically come up directly against each other in the shape of former Leeds winners Tom Briscoe at Leigh and Ryan Hall at Hull KR.

Hall won the award in 2014 with two tries against Castleford including an amazing put down in the first half.

Briscoe picked up the trophy a year later as he broke the record for the most tries in a Challenge Cup Final as the former Hull FC man heaped misery on Hull KR, can he do it again?

Well SkyBet have revealed their Lance Todd Trophy odds and unsurprisingly Lachlan Lam and Edwin Ipape are the front runners.

Lam is 3/1 and Ipape is 4/1. Then at 5/1 is a trio of Hull KR stars in the shape of Brad Schneider, Mikey Lewis and Rowan Milnes.

Leigh are the favourites at 4/7 with Hull KR at 6/4. Hull KR have a four point handicap as well at 20/21 with Leigh at 10/11.

Interestingly, the odds for Leigh winning by a small margin of 12 points or less is the same as a bigger win at 2/1.

Hull KR are 13/5 to win by 12 points or less and 5/1 to win by 13 points or more.
