Jamie Jones-Buchanan says star man is “one of the best in the Super League era”

After Wigan Warriors’ win over Hull KR, the Sky Sports pundits were left very impressed by one man in particular.

That was Man of the Match, hat-trick hero and match winner Liam Farrell who backed up Bevan French’s break to score the winner in golden point.

After the game, Barrie McDermott was full of praise for him:

“He’s a leader, isn’t he? He leads from the front and although players are around and those other players had a real good night, I’m thinking specifically Liam Marshall who almost made 300 metres carrying the ball and bagged a couple of tries, but when it came down to big moments, and big moments of leadership, he was right involved.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Jones-Buchanan branded him as one of the best in the Super League era.

“Liam Farrell is one of the best back rowers in the Super League era,” he said.

“I had the privilege of playing with him internationally and training with him.

“He is just an exceptional professional and he is still doing it as he has been doing for so long.

“He reads those moments and comes up at the right place at the right time and they came up with the win because of him.”
