Featherstone Rovers land NRL half-back to replace Ben Reynolds

Featherstone Rovers have confirmed the signing of NRL playmaker Paul Turner with the 23-year-old set to join the Flat Cappers.

It’s a major move for Featherstone Rovers who replace Ben Reynolds after they lost the former Leigh player to Hull KR.

Super League side Hull KR came in for Reynolds to serve as their back-up half following the loan of Jordan Abdull to Catalans Dragons, Reynolds’ departure being one that saw Featherstone land a handy transfer fee.

Incredibly, Reynolds had been bought and assigned captain but didn’t play a league game during his time with the club, however, Featherstone fans will now be looking forward to after tonight’s announcement.

Paul Turner is just 23 but boasts 11 NRL games to his name with his best season coming in 2022 when he played seven times for Gold Coast Titans.

Turner’s arrival at Featherstone Rovers comes after he was released by St George Illawarra Dragons, something that was reported by the Daily Telegraph earlier today.

The Telegraph had reported that Turner had been released so he could seek a move to Super League but it is the Championship and Featherstone Rovers who he will move to.

That release was allowed effective immediately with meant Featherstone Rovers could make the signing before the Championship season begins in just over a week’s time.
