Andrew Henderson fearful that defeat tonight could “derail” Super League side’s season

Tonight Huddersfield Giants head over to Hull KR hoping to get their season back on track with a win against the Robins.

Speaking on the Giants, Andrew Henderson gave an assessment of Ian Watson’s side on The Last Tackle.

“We know they’ve got quality in their ranks but they’re just lacking that finishing touch at the moment,” Henderson said.

“They’re doing a lot of good things but they’re also probably doing a lot of things too like inviting teams back in or they’re not doing enough to close games or get across the line.

“They probably know how to beat this side, it’s just about executing and I think it’ll make for a really interesting game for one of two reasons.

“Huddersfield need to win to get their season started, they’ll have to have some desperation about it this week but on the flipside I think if Hull Kingston Rovers get this win then that really sets their season up.”

Hull KR have impressed plenty of people this year and are inside the top four after 10 rounds.

However, Henderson believes a defeat could derail their season.

He said: “If Huddersfield come away with a really good performance and a good result then that might create a little bit of doubt in the Hull KR mind, ‘are we as good as where we think we are?’

“It could just derail them a little bit, but if they come out and do a really good job against a good Huddersfield side then that could give them that confidence, that belief that ‘we are going somewhere this year’.

“The mindset can just shift slightly by the outcome so I think it’s a really important game for those two reasons.”
