Wigan Warriors and Salford Red Devils both name unchanged 13 for crucial clash at the DW Stadium

Wigan Warriors face Salford Red Devils tonight as they look to keep the pressure on Catalans Dragons.

Following their demolition of the Dragons last week, the Cherry and Whites now find themselves just two points adrift of the table toppers, and if results go their way they could end the night at the summit.

But standing in their way are Salford. Paul Rowley’s team have turned a corner recently, and come into tonight’s game having won their previous two games. Can they make it a third tonight?

Both teams have announced their squads for tonight’s clash, and Matty Peet has named an unchanged starting 13, and only made one change to the 17-man-squad that beat Catalans, as Joe Shorrocks comes onto the bench in place of Tyler Dupree. Bevan French continues in the halves alongside Harry Smith. Jai Field, Morgan Smithies and Brad O’Neill complete the spine.

In the pack, Kaide Ellis and Liam Byrne will again look to chew up the meters in the middle, and Patrick Mago will look to add plenty of impact again from the bench.

Elsewhere, Kai Pearce-Paul and Liam Farrell feature in the second row.

Salford have named an unchanged squad to the one that beat Wakefield last week.

Ryan Brierley, Brodie Croft, Marc Sneyd and Andy Ackers again form a formidable looking spine. The ever dangerous Ken Sio will look to pose plenty of questions out wide, and Joe Burgess and Tim Lafai will look to carry on their great partnership on the edge.

Turning attention to the pack, Brad Singleton returns to face his former side, and will again partner Oliver Partington in the middle. Kallum Watkins and Sam Stone again partner in the second row, with Danny Addy lining up at loose forward.

The sides last met in June, as the Warriors got one over the Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium; thanks to a brace from Liam Farrell, and other tries from Joe Shorrocks, Abbas Miski and Liam Marshall.
