Championship side Toulouse have issued a statement regarding the French Prime Minister’s decision to ban all sport until September.
The decision means the club team will not even be able to train together until the ban is lifted. Which puts doubt over if they can complete the season.
In the statement, they say: “Following the Prime Minister’s announcement putting an end to the 2019-2020 seasons in football and rugby union, the Toulouse Olympique, will liaise with the French authorities in order to obtain information about its particular case.”
Their second team, Toulouse Olympique Broncos, are also affected. They play in Elite League One, which has been cancelled by the French Rugby League Federation, effective immediately. No title winners will be awarded.
The club say they will make no further comment until the talks commence.
