Batley Bulldogs have been dealt a blow on the eve of their pre-season, with the news that three senior players will be leaving the club.
Former Super League second rower Jack Downs heads the list, with work commitments preventing him from being able to commit to the Bulldogs’ schedule.
New signing Reece Dean has also left the club for a similar reason.
The final player to leave is forward Danny Bravo. The former Leeds Rhinos academy forward has suffered several serious injuries in recent years and is unable to confirm his recovery time, meaning he will step away from the game for the time being.
In a statement on their website, the Bulldogs said: “We’d like to wish all three the very best of luck for the future, and in the case of Jack Downs & Danny Bravo thank them for their efforts with The Bulldogs.”
Batley boss Craig Lingard will now likely look for further additions to bolster his squad.
