Star fined almost £20,000 and banned for two games following COVID breach

Penrith hooker Api Koroisau has been fined $35,000 and banned for two games after breaching the NRL’s biosecurity bubble during the State of Origin.

It is allegedly not a one time thing either, with Koroisau – who is married with two children – meeting up with the same woman on the day of the second Origin clash when the team was locked in a ‘bubble’ to prevent any potential exposure to the virus, Daily Mail Australia reported.

The woman, who asked not to be named, claims Koroisau instructed her on how to sneak into camp without being noticed.

It was only when Jai Arrow was given the boot from Queensland’s camp for inviting a female dancer back to his hotel that the Penrith hooker put a third meeting on hold.

NSW Rugby League confirmed they were aware of the incident involving Koroisau and an ‘unregistered guest’ , and had referred the matter to the NRL Integrity Unit.
