Rugby League on TV: Challenge Cup action returns alongside Super League

Super League TV camera

The past week’s Super League action included big wins for the likes of the Wigan Warriors and St Helens, as well as a surprise win for the Leeds Rhinos over the Catalans Dragons.

Round Three of Super League was rounded off with Hull FC defeating London Broncos with the newly-promoted side causing a scare for the Black and Whites.

The coming week’s coverage once again includes all twelve of the Super League sides, with Sky
Sports showing every single Super League game this season as part of their groundbreaking TV deal.

Some games are also available via new streaming platform SuperLeague+, and select Challenge Cup fixtures are being shown for free by the BBC and on The Sportsman’s YouTube account.

Below is a comprehensive list of all the Super League and Challenge Cup ties available to view this weekend and where they’re available.

Where to watch Super League and Challenge Cup this week

BBC Challenge Cup coverage - Super League

Thursday 7th March
Hull KR v Warrington Wolves: 8pm on Sky Sports Action
The week’s Super League actions kicks off as Hull KR, hoping to avenge their first defeat of the
season, play a Warrington side that are coming off the back of a convincing 30-8 victory over the
Castleford Tigers.

Friday 8th March
Castleford Tigers v Huddersfield Giants: 8pm on Sky Sports Arena and SuperLeague+
Craig Lingard’s Tigers are still looking for their first victory of the season, and will be hoping to
turn this season’s good faith into results. Meanwhile, the Giants’ win over the Leigh Leopards last
month serves as a reminder that they can be a force to be reckoned with, and will be expecting a
victory at Wheldon Road.

Leigh Leopards v Leeds Rhinos: 8pm on Sky Sports Action
Last year’s Challenge Cup winners, yet to find a win this season, play host to a Leeds Rhinos side
that held off the Catalans Dragons excellently at the weekend. Ash Handley’s try-scoring exploits
this season have earned him nationwide plaudits, and he’ll be hoping to continue that form
against a side hungry for a victory.

St Helens v Salford Red Devils: 8pm on Sky Sports Mix and SuperLeague+
The competition’s top scorers and best defence this season come up against Salford, who
defeated Hull KR in a Marc Sneyd-inspired performance on Saturday. The Saints will be looking to
make it four wins from four on home turf.

Saturday 9th March
Swinton Lions v Sheffield Eagles: 12:30pm on the BBC Red Button and BBC iPlayer
It’s Betfred Challenge Cup action in Swinton, who take on a Sheffield Eagles side that remain
unbeaten in 2024. The Lions will be looking to pull off another upset against stiff opposition.

London Broncos v Wigan Warriors: 3pm on Sky Sports Action and SuperLeague+
After their highest attendance after over a decade, the Broncos welcome the new world
champions to Plough Lane for the first time. They’ll be hoping to avoid a drubbing, as the only side
to concede over 100 points this season in the league – just three games in.

Catalans Dragons v Hull FC: 5:30pm on Sky Sports Action and SuperLeague+
Both sides were disappointing this week, with Els Dracs falling to the Leeds Rhinos and Hull FC
needing a late Smith try to edge their way past winless London Broncos and avoid an
embarrassing home defeat. The Stade Gilbert Brutus will play host to two sides wanting a
statement victory.

Sunday 10th March
Featherstone Rovers v Wakefield Trinity: 3pm on The Sportsman
The final game broadcast this week sees two Championship heavyweights play in the Fifth Round
of the Challenge Cup in a game that could give us some idea of how the league title race could go
in 2024. This game is available via The Sportsman’s YouTube account.
