Featherstone Rovers hit back at Halifax trolling

Featherstone Rovers have hit back at Halifax Panthers following the latter’s dig at Rovers’ failure to earn promotion.

Featherstone went down 34-12 to Toulouse Olympique on Sunday night, with the winner earning promotion to Super League.

Whilst congratulating the French side on their promotion, Fax also commented “We’ll see you next year @FevRoversRLFC #PanthersAreInTown” with a wink face and a scene from the US Office.

Featherstone had beaten the Panthers in the semi-final of the Championship play-offs in order to qualify for a trip to the south of France, but Rovers were just beaten by a better side on the day.

It also means that Featherstone will have to ply their trade in the second tier of rugby league after failing to earn promotion twice in the past three occasions.

Rovers do, however, remain part-time which has limited both their spending and ability on the field, but with Toulouse now out of the way, Super League could surely beckon in 2022.

Now, though, Rovers’ Twitter account has hit back in hilarious fashion.
