Club slammed for “ridiculous” player-swap offer

Wests Tigers have been slammed by Fox Sports’ James Hooper by trying to swap Luke Brooks and Moses Mbye with Canberra stars Jack Wighton and Josh Hodgson.

Hooper has long since criticised the Tigers for their recruitment and now the pundit has expressed his disbelief in the club at making such a proposal, Fox Sports has reported.

“Luke Brooks always cops criticism. What is going on will Luke stay or what is going on behind the scenes there?” Yvonne Sampson asked on NRL 360.

“Well as Buzz (Rothfield) brought up on this show last night and this shows how off the planet the Wests Tigers are when it comes to player negotiations in the player market,” Hooper said.

“A Tigers official a couple of weeks ago picked up the phone and rang the Raiders and said what would you think if we gave you Luke Brooks and Moses Mbye and we will take Jack Wighton and Josh Hodgson?”

“Right and what was the response?” Sampson asked.

“Probably about similar to that (laughs) I am tipping,” Hooper replied.

“I haven’t heard the exact details of it, but yeah thanks but no thanks I would suggest.

“That is a nuts offer,” Sampson said.
