Brad Dwyer and Kurt Gidley wind the clock back with old Warrington Wolves memories

Kurt Gidley retirement

Brad Dwyer and Kurt Gidley go way back.

With Dwyer and Gidley playing together at the Warrington Wolves in 2016 and 2017, the two fostered a relationship that still seems to be budding to this day.

Diminutive hooker Dwyer shared a photo of a Warrington training camp taken back in pre-season from January 2016.

The current Leeds Rhinos star commented: “Didn’t realise how lucky we was playing with sir @kurt.gidley, getting coached by GOAT @ajohns74 and of course Briersy for living the dream in Tenerife.”

Gidley replied: “Top lad dog! Great memories pal!”

Gidley, who played for the Wolves in 2016 and 2017, has been part of a charity group that is providing free training for more families in Port Stephens that will build their capacity to know ”what to do” when their children are not coping.

Aside from that, he will also part of a formidable coaching set-up at the Newcastle Knights that involves club legend Andrew Johns.

The Knights, fed up of losing local talent to other NRL sides, have invested heavily in a new junior pathway academy and high performance centre as impressive as any other club in any code in Australian sport.

Dwyer, meanwhile, is gearing up for another season in the Leeds shirt as the Rhinos aim for a better ending to the year.
