Billy Magoulias breaks silence after Warrington Wolves exit

Warrington Wolves confirmed the release of Billy Magoulias on compassionate grounds with immediate effect yesterday afternoon.

Magoulias only joined Warrington ahead of the 2022 Super League season from the Cronulla Sharks in the NRL where he was a bit-part player.

The loose-forward has played just 12 times for the Wolves and will not be part of Daryl Powell’s plans moving forward given his desire to return to Australia.

The club wrote on their website: “We thank Billy for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him all the best for the future.”

And, now Magoulias himself has broken his silence after his shock departure from the Halliwell Jones yesterday.

The hulking forward posted on Instagram with a photo of him in a Warrington shirt and the caption: “Onto the next chapter. Thankyou to the Warrington Wolves!”

Meanwhile, Warrington’s recruitment is expected to continue with at least another three signings rumoured to be making their way to the Cheshire club.

Amongst those are Canterbury Bulldogs pair Matt Dufty and Paul Vaughan as well as St George Illawarra Dragons forward Josh McGuire, with head coach Daryl Powell determined to build a Grand Final-winning side.
