Another long term ban confirmed as Halifax Panthers man is suspended

It’s been a busy night in rugby league.

There’s been a lot of player movements with Jake Trueman, Regan Grace, Tom Johnstone, Jack Walker, Josh Simm and Ellis Longstaff all on the move.

It’s also been a busy night at the disciplinary with Matty Lees appeal and Dylan Napa’s tribunal.

Matty Lees’ ban was overturned after he was found not guilty of the head high tackle he was penalised for in Saints’ game against Catalans. That game also saw Napa hit with a Grade D charge for striking and tonight the tribunal found him guilty giving him a five match ban.

Now, Halifax Panthers have received news of a ban for Greg Worthington. He was found guilty of a Grade D charge for punching on June 27th in a fiery game against Barrow Raiders on Premier Sports that the Panthers won 43-18.

The form of the Panthers at present on the back of another win on Sunday, his absence may make very little difference.

He will miss the Panthers next game on Monday against fellow play-off hopefuls York City Knights.

That is one of three games he’ll miss after coping a three game ban.

He will also miss the game against Workington as well as the trip to the capital as Halifax look to maintain their momentum, take third spot and put Featherstone under some serious pressure in second spot after their recent slip.
