The grand opening of Bankwest Stadium took place on Easter Monday and the Parramatta Eels’ new home certainly didn’t disappoint.
Having undergone a complete rebuild over the last five years, the stadium in Western Sydney is now arguably the finest in the NRL.
With a capacity of 30,000, supporters are seated close to the action to create an impressive atmosphere and there isn’t a bad seat in the house.
In the stadium’s opening match, the Eels christened their new home in style with a commanding 51-6 victory against Wests Tigers.
A crowd ofย 29,047 turned out for the landmark day and supporters were treated to something special in rugby league’s newest arena.
It started with this, and a half-century followed.
