On Friday night Willie Peters’ Hull KR side were stunned by Leigh Leopards as the Leopards picked up their first win of the season after promotion.
After the game speaking on KRTV Peters expressed why he felt his side slipped up.
He said: “We didn’t look comfortable tonight, we probably never felt comfortable and getting pipped at the end there. Credit to Leigh who just felt short in two games so we knew they’d be a tough opponent.
“There’s a lot of learning to take out of that one.
“Any defeat is not great but to lose that way as well. We look at ourselves and we needed to close that game out far better than we did.”
He also gave an update on Kane Linnett who picked up an injury: “I need to speak to the doctor, hopefully he’s ok.”
“I thought he was arguably our best player on the night for sure but that doesn’t matter. Kane went down then it’s the next man up.
“I think this week we need to freshen them up a little bit. We’ve had three solid weeks so maybe take a break and freshen them up, take a breath and we’ll have a look at it after the weekend.”
Speaking on next week, he said: “Our focus now is recovering and learning and then we’ll focus on Warrington later in the week.
