Wigan Warriors’ Kai Pearce-Paul reacts to horror injury news

Wigan Warriors head coach Matty Peet confirmed on Tuesday that Kai Pearce-Paul has suffered a major blow.

The rangy back-rower/centre was taken from the field in Wigan’s 20-0 win over the Salford Red Devils on Friday night and no head coach Peet has confirmed a bad diagnosis.

“He’s torn some ligaments, scans have confirmed that but at the moment we’re looking at a few months. It’s unfortunate but it’s part of the game,” Peet said.

Pearce-Paul has now reacted to that horror news coming out, tweeting: “Absolutely gutted  However happy we secured the 2 points  Everything happens for a reason. I’ll be back.”

Wigan take on Hull FC this Thursday night after both teams enjoyed a big Challenge Cup Sixth Round win.

The Warriors overcame Salford Red Devils whilst Hull FC put Sheffield Eagles to the sword, but it will be a much different proposition for the Black and Whites this week.

The battle between Jake Connor and Jai Field is also one to keep an eye on in what promises to be a mouthwatering clash.
