Willie Isa is ready to sign a new deal at Wigan, head coach Adrian Lam has confirmed.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of 2021, but Wigan Today has revealed that Isa is ready to sign on the dotted line.

“I think they’re well down the track with that.

“Before his suspension he was probably our best player, he’s a great leader, and we’re a better team with him in there.”

Centre Jake Bibby is also understood to have taken out an option on their deals to extend their stay at the DW Stadium, with Lam waxing lyrical about the 25-year-old’s form.

“He’s a machine, he’s re-signed with the club and whatever is best for the team, he’s happy to do it,” Lam said.

“I’m so pleased for Jake – if you’d said at the start of the year he’d have played in almost every game, you wouldn’t have believed it. It’s players like him that have kept us ticking over this season.”

Wigan currently sit in fourth in the Super League table, with 12 wins from 18 games. The Warriors travel to Hull KR on Friday night.
