Wigan Warriors and St Helens talents come into England Knights squad for Scotland clash

England Knights have made three changes to the side that defeated France 18-6 in Bordeaux last Saturday, as they look to make it two on the spin against Scotland this coming Saturday at Myreside.

Huddersfield Prop Owen Trout has been rested, with Jake Wardle receiving a call up to the Senior Squad as part of Shaun Wane’s plans for England’s Warm Up game against Fiji.

Coming into the squad are Jack Broadbent, who spent the season on loan from Leeds at Featherstone, and George Delaney and Harvie Hill, young talents from Saints and Wigan respectively, who both have the achievements of an Academy Origin clean sweep and their Super League debuts to remember from 2022.

Knights assistant coach, Paul Sculthorpe, said: “It’s a great learning curve for George and Harvie, and a massive challenge for all the squad who’ll be up against players who are preparing to play in the World Cup.

“I’ve followed George and Harvie’s progress for a number of years and definitely earned the right to be part of the Knights programme. Over 50 senior England internationals have come through this pathway, and they too are potential England players of the future.

“All the players have been outstanding in training and produced a fantastic performance in France. It wasn’t a classic, but it was solid and the whole experience was character-building. We learned a lot from it.”

Saturday’s clash against Scotland is live and free via The Sportsman YouTube Channel, as part of their ever-increasing influence within the sport. Build up starts at 13:15 for a 13:30 kick-off in Edinburgh.
