The Disciplinary Match Review Panel released its results of last weekend’s reserves and Championship games.
Included in the minutes was a likely hefty ban to highly-rated Huddersfield Giants youngster Fenton Rogers, who has been sent to a tribunal for a Grade D Dangerous Contact charge.
The charge reads: “Law 15.1 (i) Dangerous Contact – A defending player makes contact with an opponent after the ball has been released by an opponent in a vulnerable position which causes flexion to the head, neck or spinal column on an attacking player, which poses an unacceptable risk of injury to that player. Grade D.”
With that charge comes a potential three to five match ban, but with the increasing crackdown, it may well be on the higher end of the scale.
Following recent fixtures from Championship, Reserves and friendly matches, the Match Review Panel have issued the following sanctions:
Aaron Small (London Skolars) – Grade A Disputes Decision – 0 Match Penalty Notice
Richards Nsemba (Wigan Warriors) – Grade B Late Hit on Passer – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Matt Costello (Salford Red Devils) – Grade B Other Contrary Behaviour – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Same Eseh (Wakefield Trinity) – Grade B Late Hit on Passer – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Fenton Rogers (Huddersfield Giants) – Grade D Late Hit on Passer – Refer to Tribunal
Guy Graham (Whitehaven) – Grade C Dangerous Throw – 2 Match Penalty Notice
