Warrington release Tongan forward

Warrington Wolves have announced forward Leilani Latu has left the club after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

Latu arrived at the club ahead of the 2020 season, but initially struggled to break into the team. He played on loan for Widnes Vikings during their defeat to London Broncos.

However, after the Super League restart, he would make his long-awaited debut, but only made three appearances. He marked his debut with a try against Hull FC.

A short statement from Warrington said: “Warrington Wolves can confirm that Leilani Latu has been released from the remainder of his contract by mutual agreement with immediate effect.

“The Club would like to thank the prop forward for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”
