Wakefield Trinity vs Toulouse Olympique: Team news, match preview and score prediction

After two comprehensive defeats in a row, Wakefield are under pressure and Toulouse’s win over Hull KR has only ramped that up.

Now just four points separate the two teams at the bottom of the league and leaves the momentum with Toulouse.

Wakefield will have Mason Lino available after he avoided a suspension despite a Grade A offence for the way he disputed a decision against Wigan. They could also give a debut to Hull FC prop Josh Bowden following his move whilst winger Kyle Evans is in line for his second appearance after a try scoring debut.

Elois Pelissier and Ilias Bergal are back from injury for Toulouse. However key man Andrew Dixon remains absent with an abductor problem.

Match Preview – Key Battles:

Max Jowitt vs Olly Ashall-Bott: A former Wakefield loanee, Trinity may be wishing Olly Ashall-Bott was still at Belle Vue the way he’s playing which his elusive running routinely devastating teams. However, Max Jowitt is still a very explosive and effective fullback and returned the role in place of Lee Gaskell.

Jacob Miller and Mason Lino vs Corey Norman and Tony Gigot: When Wakefield have shone this season, their halfbacks have been key. They’ll need them on form tomorrow against a new halfback combination in Corey Norman and Tony Gigot whose creativity underpinned Toulouse’s win over Hull KR.

In games like this, it will be about holding your nerve. It may come down to the aforementioned big players in the spine and recently its been Toulouse’s strike players who’ve come up trumps and they could do so again.
