On Friday night, Wakefield Trinity launched their home shirt for 2023.
The jersey celebrated the club’s 150th anniversary with a stripped shirt with light and dark blue hoops interplaying masterfully for a simple yet effective shirt that blended modernity and tradition nicely.
Add to this the gold detailing and you have one of the kits of the season already.
That said, some Wakefield Trinity fans weren’t best pleased due to the lack of white and red on the jersey whilst others likened it to a Leeds Rhinos shirt and there are certain similarities with Leeds Rhinos 2011 jersey which adopted a similar design.
However, Wakefield fans who are disappointed by the lack of white and red will enjoy their away kit for 2023 which is a very traditional Wakefield shirt.
A white base with red and blue stripes down the shirt.
Again, the badge and sponsors are in gold to celebrate the anniversary as the club looks to the past as they celebrate the future.

It is a new dawn at Belle Vue with the stadium redevelopment progressing nicely and with new coach Mark Applegarth at the helm.
He has now made his first two signings following up the arrival of Morgan Smith from Featherstone with the signing of former NRL star Kevin Proctor.
