Wakefield Trinity boss Willie Poching gives verdict on Scott Taylor tackle that will see Reece Lyne sidelined

Wakefield Trinity are facing a nervous wait over the extent of the injury to star centre Reece Lyne.

Lyne hobbled from the field in just the fourth minute after a dangerous tackle by Hull FC’s Scott Taylor who has subsequently been banned for one game.

“We’ve lost Reece Lyne but won’t know the full extent of his injury until this afternoon when he sees a specialist,” Poching told BBC Radio Leeds.

“He’s still in a boot and walking around on crutches, but I can’t see it being anything less than four to six weeks – that’s with my deep medical knowledge.

“I’m just going off my experience and how he’s moving, but we won’t know until we do some further investigations and speak to the right people.

Poching refused to get caught on the tackle by Scott Taylor, but recognised that he was anxious about the outcome.

“I sort of caught it as it happened and was a bit worried for Reece, but the league have dealt with it and that’s out of my hands.
