Veteran NRL playmaker set for Super League move

News Corp is reporting that Will Hopoate has signed a two-year deal with Super League club St Helens.

The 29-year-old fullback has played 115 games for the Canterbury Bulldogs and 175 in the NRL altogether, but the Bulldogs have not offered Hopoate a new deal.

St Helens had previously been in for St George Illawarra’s Matt Dufty, but those rumours have quietened down in recent days.

Why didn’t the club offer Lachlan Coote a new deal instead of signing a player in the same position when they know Coote is the best fullback in the league. Numbties
