Update on Super League linked winger’s future as UK switch becomes more likely

There are still plenty of high profile free agents both in England and Australia.

In England former Man of Steel and former Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers and Hull FC star Luke Gale is still looking for a club.

Meanwhile, in Australia Marty Taupau is still looking for a club and stirring up interest in Super League.

This is because the negotiations about the NRL’s salary cap continue to stall.

This has also stopped Josh Mansour from securing a new club ahead of 2023.

The former Penrith Panthers and South Syndey winger has been one of the best try scorers down under for the better part of a decade but these stalling negotiations are keeping clubs from signing him as they remain unsure about the future of the salary cap according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

During the Rugby League World Cup, in which he starred for Lebanon, he said he would be open to switching to Super League which reportedly had Super League clubs on red alert.

Now that an NRL move is stalling, a Super League switch is becoming more likely as they can offer security ahead of 2023.

Three Super League clubs still have quota spots so there are clubs who could tempt him over to the UK or indeed France in the shape of Catalans Dragons.

Sydney Roosters were said to be interested in the past.
