Toulouse Olympique reveal 2023 kits with plenty of French flair

Toulouse Olympique have released their kits for the 2023 season and the French side have gone back to their national roots in both design, colours and also manufacturers.

The side who are tipped as one of the favourites for the Championship and therefore a return to Super League have had a very busy week so far having announced their shirt numbers for 2023 yesterday and their leadership group today.

Those announcements saw a bold 19-man squad named with an open admission that they were aiming to recruit another forward, as reported here, and then the appointment of former Wigan Warriors’ veteran Harrison Hansen heading up a three-man captaincy crew, as reported here.

Today’s kit announcement though will offer fans the opportunity to purchase a home and alternative strip with both featuring simplistic and nationalistic designs.

That national feel to both kits will come from the fact that the Olympians have signed a four-year deal with French sports giants, Le Coq Sportif, and the kits have a very traditional feel to them.

Toulouse tweeted a video highlighting both designs, which can be seen below.

In the attached statement on their site they explain the choices behind the kits, the home shirt being bold and blue with with a black and white chevron across the chest and white trim sleeves.

As for the alternative kit it’s a simple white design with the chevron being navy blue across the chest instead.

The team stated on their website: “This first game takes the Blue of the TO, with an original design and the great return of the scapular.

“The so-called ‘Alternative’ kit uses the white of the club, the other flagship colour of the TO. There is also the scapular, as well as a camouflage-inspired design and of course, the reminder in Toulouse with the Occitan cross.”

Shirts will go on sale immediately via both the online and physical club stores and will be seen in the flesh when they face Barrow Raiders in round one of the Championship on February 4th.
