10. Tom Johnstone vs Catalans Dragons

A trademark Tommy Johnstone finish kicks off the shortlist. Johnstone received a pass almost stood still from his fullback Ryan Hampshire before showing the balance and hand-eye coordination to produce a tremendous leap for the line and finish despite pressure from Tony Gigot and Sam Tomkins.

9. Ben Crooks vs Hull FC

Fullback Adam Quinlan chimed into the line before using tremendous guile and footwork to make a clean break before using vision and quick thinking to deliver an accurate kick to centre Ben Crooks who was in space. The former Hull FC man somehow took the kick almost on his heels before finishing under pressure.

8. Blake Austin vs Hull FC

Former Canberra Raiders halfback Blake Austin delivered a sublime, effortless 60m effort to seal a first half hatrick. Austin broke the line out of nothing and had the evasion and speed to beat the fullback and score the try with incredible ease. The entertaining playmaker has some pace, some balance and some strength and has the rugby brain to apply each which he showed during this great individual try.

7. Lachlan Coote vs Salford Red Devils

Regan Grace showed balance and strength to break through the attempted tackles of Gil Dudson and Robert Lui before sidestepping his way past two good defenders in Niall Evalds and Joey Lussick before delivering a pass to the supporting Lachlan Coote who had the pace to finish under the sticks. A typically brilliant St Helens try.

6. Albert Kelly vs Castleford Tigers

Receiving the ball out wide just ten metres away from his own line, Jake Connor sold an outrageous dummy to break the line out of nothing before delivering an offload under pressure from three Castleford defenders to the supporting Albert Kelly who had the pace to score despite the efforts of Greg Minikin.

5. Tommy Makinson vs Warrington Wolves

A trademark Tommy Makinson finish. The 2018 Golden Boot winger received a bullet pass from youngster Jack Welsby and managed to spectacularly dive over in the corner with limited space.

4. Jake Bibby vs Catalans Dragons

On the hooter before half-time Salford winger Ken Sio produced a marvellous one-handed pick-up off the deck coming away from his own line before finding Jackson Hastings who had the presence of mind to kick forward, creating a footrace between Sio and Samisoni Langi which the former won booting forward before losing his foot-in over the try line only for Jake Bibby to follow up with the finish under pressure from two Catalan defenders.

3. George Griffin vs Catalans Dragons

Accurate and swift ball movement from right to left in their own half from Salford that included a clever pass from Jackson Hastings which found Centre Jake Bibby who produced an audacious one-handed offload to Niall Evalds who kicked forward not once but twice before finding Jackson Hastings who showed outstanding awareness in offloading to the supporting George Griffin who finished the try off under the sticks. A very well-worked team try.

2. Josh Griffin vs Catalans Dragons

A terrific team try. Naulago’s offload ten metres away from his own line found Scott Taylor who delivered a pass to Josh Griffin who had the guile to break the line and the speed to outpace Samisoni Langi before finding the supporting Marc Sneyd who produced a brilliant tip-on back inside to winger Faraimo who managed to offload back to Griffin who finished off under the sticks.

1. Tommy Makinson vs Leeds Rhinos

An incredibly accurate cut out pass under pressure from Jonny Lomax found Makinson who pulled off one of the best finishes of the Super League era.
