St Helens’ 2023 squad has been confirmed with the signing with the acquisition of Tee Ritson from Barrow Raiders.
The 2022 Championship top try scorer takes St Helens’ number 25 shirt as he completes their squad and could replace Regan Grace and is set for a battle with Jon Bennison for that left wing spot in 2023.
He joins initially on loan with an option to move permanently.
Ritson has spoken on Saints TV about the move revealing the St Helens legend he looked up to as well as why he picked St Helens after Barrow revealed that “multiple Super League clubs” expressed interest.
He said: “I can’t quite put into words how I’m feeling right now, I’m overjoyed. When the opportunity came about, I heard about it a while back now, I couldn’t quite believe it.
“I always had this belief growing up as a kid that I would get to this stage, it is a dream come true.
“As a kid I was looking up to guys like Paul Wellens and now he’s going to be my coach.
“I’ve always had that ambition to play at the top level, I’ve had a lot of setbacks in my career but I guess that’s what has made me the player I am today.
“If there was any team in Super League that I could pick to play for it would be St Helens, they’re a great team to watch.”
