Sydney Roosters tie star halfback Keary to long-term contract

Sydney Roosters have secured the services of star halfback Luke Keary until the end of 2024 after tying him down to a new deal.

The 28-year-old has emerged as one of NRL’s top talents in recent years and has been in sensational form in 2020, helping the Roosters into the top four with nine wins from 14 so far.

Since joining the club in 2017, Keary has made 85 appearances, scoring 21 tries.

“From the top down, there’s a really good group of people involved at the Roosters,” Keary said. “I’m excited to have my long-term future locked in here.”

Rooster head coach Trent Robinson added: “Luke is a leader and a student of the game who brings energy to everything he does.

“He’s also a good person, so it’s great news that he will continue to play his important role here at the Roosters in the coming years.”
