Swinton confirm friendly matches

Swinton Lions have confirmed their pre-season fixtures ahead of the 2020 season.

They will play one match at Heywood Road, and the other away from home.

First up, they make the short journey to take on Rochdale Hornets in a Greater Manchester derby. That will be on Sunday January 19 with kick off at 3pm.

Both sides have played some classic fixtures of late, most notably the incredible comeback by the Lions to deny Rochdale a first win of the season at the Summer Bash.

Then comes the big one as they welcome Challenge Cup holders Warrington Wolves to their Heywood Road home. That is on Saturday January 25, which kicks off at 2pm.

That match holds a particular level of importance as it could be the game where former Lion Matty Ashton makes his debut for Warrington.

These matches could provide Swinton with some much-needed preparation as they look to build on an impressive 2019.
