Super League start date revealed

Super League will begin on Thursday 10 February.

That means that the competition will be a 27-round schedule – the exact same length of calendar that took place before the COVID-19 pandemic hit back in 2020.

Each team will play home and away fixtures, alongside the Magic Weekend before the loop fixtures come into being to decide the final positions in the Super League table.

Meanwhile, the Grand Final is expected to take place on Saturday 24 September – two weeks earlier than usual in a bid to give Shaun Wane and the England side greater time to prepare for next year’s Rugby League World Cup.

That would also have meant that if the Grand Final had taken place on its usual 7/8 October weekend, then players would have had just a week to prepare for the most prestigious international event in world rugby league.

Fixture lists are expected out in due course with new boys Toulouse Olympique gearing up for their first season in the top flight in their history.
