Super League confirm Sky games for the final round of fixtures

There may only be one round of Super League fixtures left but there’s still plenty to play for especially where the top six is confirmed.

This afternoon Hull KR and Castleford butt heads in a titanic battle which could have massive ramifications on the play-off picture.

If the Tigers win they’ll wrap up a place inside the top six whilst Hull KR will simply have to beat Leeds in their final game of the season to sneak inside the play-off places. Meanwhile a defeat for Castleford will leave their play-off hopes dangling by a thread with a difficult game against third-place Warrington waiting for them next week which could become an absolute must win for the Tigers if they lose this afternoon.

Unsurprisingly then, the two fixtures which should decide the spots from fifth to seventh in the league take centre stage on Sky Sports next week. Castleford’s meeting with Warrington at the Jungle will take place on Thursday night live on Sky Sports and kick off at 19:45  whilst Leeds’ battle with Hull KR on Friday night will also be broadcast by Sky Sports.

The game at Headingley will be a seismic affair no matter what happens this afternoon as a win for either side could see them sneak inside the top six. Leeds could feasibly lose and still claim a play-off place but they’d need a lot of luck with other results and points difference.

Three other games will take place on Friday night all of which kick-off at 19:45 like Leeds v Hull KR. Salford host St Helens, Wakefield do battle with Hull FC who still have an outside chance of play-off rugby whilst Wigan take on league leaders Catalans at the DW Stadium.

On Sunday, Huddersfield host relegated Leigh in the final game of the regular season at 15:00.
