Super League coach addresses future of impressive forward after talk he could make permanent move away

Luis Johnson has recently been doing very well at Castleford Tigers since joining Andy Last’s side on a season long loan.

There has been talk that the loan move will become a permanent switch at the end of the season but for now Hull KR boss Willie Peters has confirmed that Johnson is very much in his thoughts as he monitors him over on West Yorkshire and the Robins can recall him at any time.

“He’s on a season loan so we can call him back at any time but we’re not going to stop him playing. The whole purpose of him going out on loan was to get him to play first team, and he’s getting picked and playing first team.

“We can always call Luis back at any time and that’s always been the agreement but it’s good to see him playing.”

Peters confirmed that Johnson is eligible to play for the Tigers against Hull KR on Friday:

“Yeah as far as I know he is.”

Peters will have a look at him after the game:

“I’ll look at him after the game, I’ve been keeping an eye on how he’s going, but if he’s wearing a Cas shirt this week then he’s wearing a Cas shirt this week and we’ll just worry about what we do.”
