Shock absentee in Leeds line-up as Hull FC deal with huge problem in key roles

Hull KR Ben Reynolds

For the second time this season, Leeds Rhinos host Hull FC.

The Rhinos won their fourth game of the season on Sunday against Huddersfield Giants in a tightly fought battle in Rivals Round.

Against a struggling Hull FC side they will be hoping to claim back to back wins for only the second time this season.

They will also be looking for a first win against Hull FC at Headingley in front of fans since 2018.

The game kicks off at 20:00.

There is no live TV coverage but BBC will show highlights on the Super League Show.

Rohan Smith included all 17 players who were on duty on Easter Sunday in the 18-17 win over Huddersfield Giants in his 21-man squad. Meanwhile, James Donaldson and Sam Walters returned to the squad having featured for Bradford Bulls on dual registration for their Easter Monday derby win over Halifax in the Betfred Championship.

However, Leeds fans were disappointed to see Sam Walters feature for the reserves alongside fellow member of the 21-man squad Jack Sinfield.

That reduces one option in the middle and James Bentley is also absent for the Rhinos in a big absence for the Rhinos so Zane Tetevano moves to the backrow and Tom Holroyd drops to the bench as Sam Lisone makes a rare start.

Liam Tindall is a surprise inclusion on the bench alongside Corey Johnson and Justin Sangare.

Tony Smith’s Hull FC are without four players from the Hull derby defeat.

Kane Evans and Mitieli Vulikijapani drop out and will serve their one-match suspensions, while Jake Clifford (ankle) and Jamie Shaul (calf) are unavailable having picked up knocks during the game.

This means that young Davy Litten faces a tough night in the rain at fullback and Tony Smith is forced to run with Joe Lovodua and Ben McNamara in a makeshift spine.

Former Rhinos Liam Sutcliffe and Brad Dwyer feature with the latter named on the bench.
