Salford Red Devils’ new signing jets off to join new club

When Brodie Croft signed for the Salford Red Devils, it was considered by many in the rugby league fraternity to be a coup.

Although 2021 with the Brisbane Broncos was far from fruitful, Croft played in the 2018 Melbourne Grand Final defeat by Sydney before moving to Brisbane in 2020 after playing 39 games for the Storm over a period of four seasons.

Upon signing, the 24-year-old playmaker spoke about his desire to join Richard Marshall at the Red Devils, and, despite the former Halifax boss leaving, Croft has set off to Manchester ahead of the 2022 Super League season.

Croft said: “As one chapter ends, a new one begins! Cannot wait to continue the journey with my little fam 🙌🏼 it’s been a tough 2 years but above all, has grown me as a person. We’re so blessed for the support from great friends and family! Here’s to the next chapter @salfordreddevilsrlfc ! 🔥 and to meeting the in laws 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 #maskON“.

Salford lost halfbacks Tui Lolohea (Huddersfield Giants), Kevin Brown (retired) and Ata Hingano (released) at the end of the 2021 season, with Croft expecting to take the reins under a new head coach who hasn’t yet been announced.
