Richard Agar gives update on Matt Prior’s future as well as Zane Tetevano’s injury

Matt Prior has been at Leeds since the 2020 season, taking the Super League by storm.

And, with both head coach Richard Agar and Prior keen to see the prop forward stay on, the former is looking forward to striking a deal.

“Matt’s got a desire to stay and we’ve got a desire to keep him so it’s not one of those that we are panicking about and putting a deadline on,” Agar said.

“Four games in two weeks sort of slows things up a touch behind the scenes but we are working with his agent and fingers crossed we can get something sorted.”

One man that hasn’t appeared since Leeds’ victory over Castleford at the end of May is Zane Tetevano.

“Zane had COVID pretty badly, but at the moment he’s got a little bit of a sore Achilles and we don’t want to risk it whilst it is sore and inflamed.

“We’re just playing that week by week – it’s just one we don’t want to take any risks with as they can be very dangerous.

“At this stage we want to make sure we’ve got no issues or taking any chances that could make it a further, long-term injury if he does any more damage so we’re being very gentle.”
