Price pleased with Warrington response

Warrington Wolves Head Coach Steve Price was pleased by the response his side showed during their 38-14 win over Castleford Tigers.

Wire came into the game off the back of a disappointing 26-20 defeat against Huddersfield Giants on Monday, and despite falling behind early, Warrington were able to recover and claim their fourth win of the season.

Price had particular praise for his spine players.

He said: “It was a great response from last week, especially after a short turnaround. Once we got past those seven tackle sets, we started to find a bit of rhythm and it was a really pleasing result.

“I thought the spine in Stefan (Ratchford), Blake (Austin) and Gaz (Widdop) all deserve a big wrap in terms of the rhythm and energy they brought to the performance.

“I was really pleased with the chemistry between all three of them. Hilly (Chris Hill) also had some good moments as well with his carries and leg speed.”
