Salford Red Devils were sweating on the fitness of Tim Lafai going into their clash with Wigan Warriors.
Lafai was a Dream Team centre in 2022 and was at times unplayable.
However, he missed the game against Wakefield Trinity last week through a hamstring complaint but he was deemed fit for the clash against Wigan.
However, he began to struggle and was receiving treatment throughout the game.
He was eventually taken off with Kallum Watkins forced to move to centre as forwards like Tyler Dupree were forced to do longer minutes in a move that played into the hands of Wigan who started to bring Bevan French more into the game by asking him to play fullback.
After the game, Rowley gave an update on Lafai saying both legs were gone at the end of the game and also that three players could miss next week against Huddersfield Giants.
“It could be costly for next week, we will probably have three of tonight’s team unavailable next week,” Rowley said on Sky Sports.
“Tim was declared fit, the scans came back clear, remarkably. He is a freakish athlete and really strong. He came through alright for the game but by the end both legs were gone.
“We will have to assess the damage but knowing Tim he might shock us all and be available next week.”
