One signing, one retention at Halifax

Halifax have confirmed the retention of Jacob Fairbank and the signing of halfback Connor Robinson on two-year deals.

Prop forward Fairbank has been at the club since 2015, and has made over 100 appearances for the Championship side.

He said: “I’m really happy to have a 2 year extension with Halifax. I’m proud to be playing for my hometown club and can’t wait to be pulling on the jersey again.

“During my time at the club, I’ve enjoyed some of the best parts of my career and after speaking to Simon the other day, I can’t wait to get back to it with the boys after this long lay off we have had.”

Robinson returns to the club after a spell with York City Knights. During which, he helped the club to promotion to the Championship and a third placed finish.

He added: “I am excited to be coming back to Fax. I feel that I left without fulfilling my potential before. When my agent mentioned of the interest, it felt like an opportunity to come back and right those wrongs from last time.”

“I have had a great time at York. We had some memorable years, but the opportunity to go back and play at Halifax was too good to turn down. After speaking to Grixy and Ian Croad, it was a no brainer to come back and be a part of the family. 2021 can not come quick enough and I will do everything I can to push Fax to promotion to Super League.”
