Myler can stay at Leeds, says Agar

Leeds boss Richard Agar has said that Richie Myler is free to stay at Leeds, should he want to fight for his place.

The signing of Luke Gale yesterday suggested Myler’s stint with the club may be coming to an end, with the former Castleford and Bradford scrum-half set to line up alongside Rob Lui in the halves.

However, the Rhinos head coach has said the ball is in Myler’s court, and insists he will not show him the door.

“That’s (his future) probably down to Richie a little bit, said Agar. While the club were linked with numerous half-backs we were open with Rich and said we are looking at a deal for Luke, but we’re not really looking outside and beyond that.

“Having an abundance of riches like that will strengthen us; at the same time we know Richie is an experienced half-back that wants to play first-grade – but he still can.”
