McIlorum banned for one match

Wigan will be without hooker Michael McIlorum for Friday’s clash against Salford after he submitted an early guilty plea to grade B standing on an opponent.

McIlorum, who has just returned after 14 months out injured, joins a long list of Wigan players absent with head coach Sean Wane set to face the Red Devils without 14 first teamers.

Captain Sean O’Loughlin is on England duty this weekend with playmaker George Williams injured, as the Cherry and Whites look to bounce back from a humiliating 54-4 defeat to Castleford on Saturday.

Their next opponents Salford currently sit third on the Super League ladder and will travel to the DW Stadium full of confidence after a comfortable win against Widnes.
