Leigh v Salford: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Rivals Round concludes with a Lancashire derby as Leigh host Salford. The Centurions are still looking for their first win of the season but will have to topple a Salford side full of confidence after they beat Huddersfield last week.

The Centurions will be forced to make changes to their backline as Junior Sa’u and Jack Logan drop out. Thus, Kurt Haggerty will look to Brendan Elliot whilst potentially asking Craig Mullen to move out of the halves and back into the three-quarters. That means Jamie Ellis will move to stand-off alongside Joe Mellor. As for the pack, Matty Gee could be rewarded for his brace against Leeds with a start whilst the on loan Rob Butler could provide size in the front row after returning from suspension. I’m also tipping Sam Stone to make his Super League debut after joining from Gold Coast.

As for Salford, they’ve lost the likes of Joe Burgess and Matty Costello. However, the return of Dan Sarginson and Ken Sio will ameliorate their absence. Sarginson will likely be asked to play at centre despite being more suited to fullback these days after all Tui Lolohea has done a fine job at fullback in his absence. In the pack, star man Elijah Taylor will return to the loose forward position prompting Greg Burke to drop to the bench.
