Leigh Leopards and Wakefield Trinity stars looking to shine tonight as they look for new clubs

As Papua New Guinea gear up towards the quarter-finals of the Rugby League World Cup as they butt heads with Shaun Wane’s England side at Wigan Warriors’ DW Stadium next week, they meet Wales tonight in their final group game.

The Kumuls will be looking to generate momentum going into that game and have named another strong team.

Leigh Leopards form the core of the side as Nene MacDonald starts at centre with Lachlan Lam in the halves alongside the impressive Kyle Laybutt.

Meanwhile, Lam’s Leopards teammate Edwin Ipape starts at nine whilst Wellington Albert starts at prop whilst skipper and Leeds Rhinos star Rhyse Martin starts at second-row.

As for Wales, two stars without a club in the shape of Leigh Leopards fullback Caleb Aekins and Kyle Evans of Wakefield Trinity will figure.

Two brilliant players who have shone for Wales so far and two men who would make brilliant signings for any Super League club, they will be looking to once again show what they can do.

Batley bound Elliot Kear starts at centre whilst Salford Red Devils man Rhys Williams starts on the wing.

Former St Helens prop Anthony Walker is named at prop whilst Widnes Vikings hooker Matty Fozzard starts at hooker.

Former Huddersfield Giants forward Chester Butler is on the bench.

Here’s the teams in full:
