Leeds v Leigh: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Leeds host Leigh tonight looking to claim their third consecutive win as their season finally gets headed in the right direction. They’ll have to do it tough though. The Rhinos will be without three suspended stars as well as a number of injured players leaving Leigh with a huge chance of claiming their first win of the season.

The Leeds team is one of the hardest to predict tonight. Yes, halfbacks Rob Lui and Callum McLelland are back in contention but are they both fit enough to start? There’s a number of problems in the backs as well for the Rhinos. Ash Handley and Konrad Hurrell miss out through head injuries whilst in-form fullback Richie Myler misses out after a nasty finger injury on Sunday. Jack Broadbent will likely step in to replace him with Liam Sutcliffe’s potential return ameliorating the gaps in the backs. I fancy him to return to his preferred centre position especially considering the form of Kruise Leeming at stand-off.

As for Leigh, Adam Sidlow lessens the loss of Tyrone McCarthy at prop. Ben Reynolds also drops out of the side meaning Matty Widlie could make the leap into the halves allowing Nathan Peats to take the bench spot having featured for the Combined Nations last week. There’s still a conundrum on the wing with Lewis Tierney vying for Craig Mullen’s spot.
