Leeds star addresses speculation linking him with move to rivals

It was a surprising rumour, but Rhyse Martin has been linked with a move to Castleford Tigers in the past few days, but he told Serious About Rugby League that there is no truth whatsoever in that speculation.

“There’s been a little bit of chat with Leeds, but honestly, me and my manager haven’t started any negotiations at all,” Martin said.

“We just said we wanted to concentrate on me playing good footy first and then we will ramp things up in the next couple of weeks in terms of negotiations at Leeds, but for me I just want to be playing well.”

Martin is, however, loving his time with the Rhinos at present and wants to stay.

“It’s been great; I’ve had a great time playing for Leeds and for the fans.

“The city has been awesome and I”m happy – I’ve got a little one on the way and I’ve got to look at the options and see where I will be happies,t but at this moment in time i am happy.

“If things change then so be it.”

The second-rower himself commented on the Castleford rumour, explaining how his teammates wouldn’t stop teasing him in training this (Monday) morning.

“I’ve been getting that from the boys all day and it’s the first time I’ve heard of the rumour.

“That was the hardest, trying to stop the jibes in training as I didn’t know what to say and honestly I’ve not started any negotiations with anyone.

“I’ve been trying to focus on myself at the end of the day.”
