Leeds Rhinos vs Wakefield Trinity: Kick-off time, TV channel and predicted line-ups

It doesn’t seem two minutes since Leeds and Wakefield met earlier in the season in a game which seemed set to determine which West Yorkshire side would kick on in 2022 and which would be struggling against Toulouse to avoid the drop.

Two months later and we’re back to square one. Neither side have been able to put together a run of wins that go beyond three in a row in the league and both appear a few bad results away from being in real trouble especially after Wakefield became the second team to lose to Toulouse last week.

Meanwhile, the Rhinos’ new dawn last week felt more like a dusk as they slipped to a defeat which killed off their recent momentum. Rohan Smith’s first game ended in a loss whilst Zak Hardaker failed to propel the side to a win on his second debut. At home and in front of the Leeds fans for the first time, the pair will hope to inspire the side to a win.

Kick-off time and TV channel

The game kicks off at 20:00.

There is sadly no TV coverage but highlights will be available on Super League’s YouTube channel and BBC’s Super League Show.

Predicted Line-ups

Leeds Rhinos
The Rhinos now only have 18 players of their 21 man squad to pick from with Tom Holroyd and Sam Walters set to play for Bradford this weekend and Jack Sinfield playing for the under 18s last night. One big call that Rohan Smith seems set to make is a possible positional switch for Zak Hardaker based on his comments in the pre-match press conference. This could see Hardaker move to fullback, as Liam Sutcliffe returns to the side at centre and Richie Myler shift to the halves in a move designed to maximise Leeds’ struggling attack. There may be an interesting call in the other centre. Jack Broadbent has been up and down this season and in and out of the side. With links tying him to Castleford, we may see him replaced by the in-form Rhyse Martin at centre whilst Morgan Gannon returns from suspension in the backrow.

Wakefield Trinity
In a a major blow for Trinity, Tom Johnstone has again picked up another injury amid rumours he’s set to sign for Catalans Dragons next year. Fortunately, Tom Lineham is back to feature on the wing in his place. Jacob Miller is also back after suspension and could see Lee Gaskell or Mason Lino drop out. With rumours linking Lino to Wigan, could he be the one to miss out?
